Captain | Dingo's Fishing Adventures

Captain Jarad “Dingo” Boshammer has been a licensed captain for 29 years, but his life on the water began much earlier. At just six months old, he was living aboard his family’s catamaran on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. By 16, he was traveling the world in pursuit of billfish, beginning a lifelong career chasing some of the planet’s most challenging gamefish.

Dingo is now living with his family in Jupiter, Florida, where he guides from an 18-foot Chittum flats skiff. Whether exploring his home waters or trailering throughout Florida, he is constantly pursuing trophy Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, and the many other sportfish the region has to offer.

Chasing World Records Around the Globe

Beyond Florida, Dingo serves as the right-hand man to angler Ian Keinath in the pursuit of world records around the globe. He builds and tests tackle, develops and fine-tunes equipment, and runs the cockpit for billfish on both fly and conventional tackle. His technical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to perform at the highest level have made him an invaluable member of every team he joins.

Dingo’s career includes 15 seasons chasing Giant Black Marlin on the Great Barrier Reef and nine summers targeting thousand-pound Pacific Blue Marlin in Kona. His travels have taken him throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and the South Pacific.

A Record-Setting Career

He has contributed to five IGFA Billfish World Records with anglers Tom Evans and Ian Keinath, spanning Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Shortnose Spearfish, and Pacific Blue Marlin on light tippet. He has also guided and fished for five Atlantic Snook World Records on fly and artificial tackle, including holding the length record for Snook on fly.

Career Highlights on the Water

Among his many career highlights, Dingo was part of a team that released five Black Marlin on IGFA fly tackle in a single day. He also helped Southern Exposure win the Bermuda Triple Crown, aided by a 1,023-pound Blue Marlin, and earned a second-place finish aboard Cristal Clear in the ESPN-broadcast Billfish Extreme Release League.

More recently, Dingo has helped release more than 20 Giant Bluefin Tuna weighing up to 1,200 pounds in Nova Scotia. Throughout his career, he has participated in the capture of 153 Marlin weighing between 700 and 1,300 pounds—including 25 exceeding the 1,000-pound mark.
