Melton International Tackle is proud to announce a new partnership with Hobie, adding their kayaks and kayak accessories to our stores. Hobie revolutionize the sit on top kayak industry in 1997 by introducing the MirageDrive, which allowed kayakers to propel their kayak by pedaling instead of paddling. This opened up precious cargo space on the kayaks since the paddles are no longer needed, and also freed up kayaker's hands, making the sport more friendly to fishermen. Hobie continues to innovate the kayak and introduced the Mirage Pro Angler series in 2009, designed specifically for anglers.
As of February 25, 2021, we have received our first shipment of Hobie Kayaks at our Anaheim location. Whether you're a kayak fishing pro or interested in enjoying the sport of fishing in new way, we invite you to come to our stores to check out our selection of Hobie Kayaks. You can come to our Melton International Tackle location in Anaheim, or our Melton Tackle Newport Beach Location. We plan to carry them in both of our physical stores. However, please note that kayaks at our Melton Tackle Newport Beach location may be more limited due to its smaller space. We recommend calling ahead to confirm the models available before visiting if you want to see a particular model. Hobie kayaks and accessories are available for purchase now on our website.
We also stock a large selection of Hobie Kayak Accessories. These will include carts for moving your kayak on the ground, personal flotation devices, livewells, h-bar, h-crate and other h-rail accessories. We will also carry product designed to help protect your kayak and accessories, such as kayak cover, MIrageDrive carry bag and leashes to keep your gear from sinking.
