Shimano’s new Ledge Runner System may revolutionize the way we troll deep diving style plugs for offshore Pelagics. Traditionally, the short corners of your trolling spread are reserved for your deep diving plugs to prevent tangling with your other conventional lures. Now, with Ledge Runner’s new ADR, you can troll 4 deep diving plugs at once without any worries of tangling or fouling provided that you follow the system approach.

Ledge Runner features a Lip design that incorporates the patented technology, ADR (Adjustable Depth Range) allowing seamless shifting of the pivot or tow point from shallow to deep without the use of any tools or having to re-rig. This system allows you to tailor your lures to the depths that you feel will be most productive and prevent tangles through a staggered lure approach. The second crucial feature is the HCW (Hydro Control Wing) a feature that ensures the lure swims straight even at high speeds. This lateral line down the lure changes the water flow over the lure giving enhanced stability when other lures would get erratic and blow out.

Matching the Ledge Runner with Power Pro Depth Hunter will give you precise lure position placement within your spread. Anglers of all skill levels now have the tools to quickly and accurately place your lure not only in the right position in your pattern to avoid tangles when making turns while trolling but also at different depths in your pattern. On the larger 200mm Ledge Runner Lures, we recommend 80lb or 100lb Depth-Hunter attached to 25ft of 130lb or 150lb Wind on leader Crimped straight to the Ring. For the 160mm Ledge Runner Lures, we recommend 50lb or 65lb Depth-Hunter with a 25ft wind-on leader of 130lb test.

How The System Works

Running your Talica 40’s off the short corners with the ledge Runner 200’s your choice of color.

Right rod out 1 color (25ft) plus wind-on set on Deep ADR setting
Left rod out 2 colors(50ft) plus wind-on set on Medium/Deep ADR setting.

Long position is Talica 25’s with the Ledge Runner 160’s your choice of color.

Right long position out 3 colors (75ft) plus wind-on set on Medium or Deep ADR setting.
Left long position out 4 colors (100ft) plus wind-on set on Shallow ADR setting.
